Hoop Professional Services are pleased to be supporting one of our established and successful Cardiff-based clients with the appointment of an HR Policy Lead on a fixed-term contract until 31st March 2026. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced HR professional to play a key role in shaping people-focused, legally robust policies within a successful and progressive organisation.
The successful candidate will lead the review, development, and implementation of the organisation’s employee handbook and HR policy framework, ensuring policies are practical, accessible, and reflective of organisational culture.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the end-to-end review and redevelopment of the employee handbook
- Draft, update, and implement HR policies using a warm, engaging, and practical approach
- Ensure all policies comply with current employment legislation and anticipate upcoming changes
- Translate complex legal and procedural information into clear, user-friendly guidance
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure policies are embedded effectively across the organisation
- Support managers and teams with the practical application of policies within day-to-day processes
- Manage workload independently to meet agreed timeframes and delivery milestones
- Proven experience of writing, reviewing, and implementing HR policies
- Strong understanding of employment law and HR best practice
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to clarity, tone, and accessibility
- Ability to translate complex legal and procedural information into engaging, user-friendly guidance
- Demonstrable commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in policy design and application
- Self-motivated, organised, and comfortable working independently
- CIPD qualified or equivalent demonstrable experience
