The predicted salary is between 40000 - 60000 £ per year.

To support the day to day operational and strategic management of the team ensuring that Youth Justice Services are available for children and young people in the Vale of Glamorgan. Other duties include holding casework responsibility, supervision and development of staff, risk management and oversight decision making; and forming part of the Youth Justice Early Support Service Management Team.

Responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring that the Council’s Policies and the Youth Justice Service plan are properly implemented, developed and reviewed, in accordance with changing legislation and practice.
  • Responsible for ensuring services are available for children and young people both on a one to one and group work basis in relation to out of court; Diversion and Prevention and post Court; supervision of community and custodial Orders based on assessed need.
  • Ensuring the provision of Court Officers and the production of Pre Sentence Reports to assist the Court to make informed decisions regarding sentencing options in line with National Standards.
  • To be responsible for the quality of the Assessment, Planning, Intervention and Supervision (APIS) functions within the Assetplus Framework of the Case Management Team under the guidance of the YJESS Manager.
  • Demonstrate an ability to analyse complex data, balance public protection, safeguarding and broader development issues.
  • Ensure the Case Management Team comply with National Standards for Youth Justice, Case Management Guidance and the YJESS Risk Led Policy in relation to the supervision, delivery of interventions, review and closure of cases in line with the Scaled Approach.
  • To manage YJESS duty system ensuring that children and young people have access in and out of office hours to Appropriate Adults, YJESS representation at Court and other services such as Bail Support and ISS packages.

  • A relevant Social Work Qualification.
  • Registration with Social Care Wales.
  • Enhanced DBS registered on the update service or be happy to apply for a DBS.
  • 3 Years of referencing.
  • Driving license with access to a car.
