Adults Social Worker – Care Support x2 Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council – Aberdare

PAYE £30.50 per hour | Umbrella £38.43 per hour

Hybrid working available (predominantly home-working)

Looking for your next Adults Social Work opportunity within a supportive and progressive local authority? We are currently working with Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council to recruit 2 experienced Adults Social Workers to join their Care Support Teams in Aberdare. These are fantastic opportunities to join services committed to strengths-based practice, professional development, and empowering adults to achieve greater independence and wellbeing.

Current vacancies available (awaiting sign off):

  • Taff East Team – Team day on site every Tuesday
  • Cynon South Team – Team day on site every Thursday

Both roles are based at Trecynon, Aberdare, for the team day, with hybrid working offered and attendance required on site one day per week for your allocated team day. The teams support adults aged 18+ with a range of needs including physical disabilities, chronic illness, learning disabilities, and mental health conditions.

You will manage a varied and rewarding caseload, undertaking complex assessments and interventions while working closely with families and partner agencies. This role offers the chance to work within a collaborative multi-agency environment alongside health professionals, housing services, and the police, with a strong focus on safeguarding and positive outcomes for adults across the community.

To be considered, you will need:

  • Social Work qualification and Social Care Wales registration
  • Experience within Adults Services
  • Strong assessment, communication, and report writing skills
  • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and the Mental Capacity Act 2005
  • A proactive, organised, and compassionate approach to practice
  • Commitment to strengths-based and person-centred working
  • Experience or understanding of Continuing Health Care and Care Treatment Planning under the Mental Health Measure (Wales) 2010 would be advantageous.
