Location: BS23 3ST • Rate: £31.50 PAYE / £40.00 Umbrella • Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday – Friday • Contract: Temporary – Covering a secondment
We are recruiting an experienced Senior Social Worker to join a dynamic team on a temporary basis covering a secondment.
This role provides professional leadership, technical guidance, and mentoring within a busy team environment.
The role involves supporting families with multiple and complex needs, while acting as a senior professional lead within the team and deputising for the Team Manager when required.
Responsibilities
- Operate as the senior social work professional within the team, providing technical advice and guidance to colleagues.
- Deputise for the Team Manager when required and support with team oversight.
- Lead on specific areas of practice and service development.
- Provide mentoring, professional supervision support, and continuous professional development to team members.
- Manage a reduced caseload to allow time for leadership, mentoring, and professional support duties.
- Work directly with families with multiple and complex needs, ensuring high quality social work interventions and positive outcomes.
Qualifications
- Qualified Social Worker with substantial post-qualified experience.
- Strong practice knowledge and leadership skills within children and family services.
- Experience of mentoring, coaching, or supporting other practitioners.
- Excellent communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lead on complex cases and provide professional guidance within a team setting.
- To apply you will need to hold a minimum of 6 months UK post-qualification experience as a registered social worker, a relevant Social Work Qualification, and registration with Social Work England.
- Enhanced DBS, registered on the update service or be happy to apply for a DBS
- 3 years of referencing
- Driving license with access to a car
