Swindon Borough Council offers this role at £47.50 per hour through Umbrella, with an initial 3‐month contract, hybrid working and a £100 weekly travel and accommodation allowance available until August 2026.

An exciting opportunity has become available within Swindon Borough Council's Assessment & Child Protection Service for an experienced Team Manager to join a fast‐paced and dynamic frontline service. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced manager looking to broaden their leadership experience within a supportive local authority committed to improving outcomes for children and families.

This is a non‐case holding Team Manager position working within the Assessment & Child Protection Team alongside fellow managers in a busy and highly collaborative environment. The team works closely with MASH, assessing incoming referrals requiring statutory assessment and safeguarding intervention to ensure children are protected and supported at the earliest opportunity. The successful candidate will oversee a team operating within a duty rota, with duty responsibility one week in every six. During duty weeks, the team receives new referrals directly from MASH to complete statutory assessments and safeguarding processes.

To be considered, you will need
  • Social Work qualification and Social Work England registration
  • Previous Team Manager or supervisory experience within Children's Services
  • Strong MASH and/or Assessment & Child Protection experience
  • Experience supervising and supporting frontline staff
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and to strict deadlines
  • Excellent safeguarding decision‐making skills
  • Flexibility and resilience within a changing environment
