Hoop Social Care are working with a specialist third‑sector service supporting children and young people affected by domestic abuse, violence against women, and displacement. We are seeking compassionate and resilient Support Workers to join the team on a part‑time basis, delivering trauma‑informed, culturally sensitive support to young people within safe accommodation and community‑based settings. This is a highly rewarding role where you will empower children and young people to rebuild confidence, develop independence, and achieve positive outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Provide trauma‑informed, child‑centred support to children and young people
  • Support those who may have experienced domestic abuse, VAWDASV, or displacement
  • Promote emotional wellbeing, safety, and resilience
  • Plan and deliver age‑appropriate activities to support development and recovery
  • Work within a culturally sensitive and inclusive framework, respecting diverse backgrounds and experiences
  • Support young people to access education, health, and community services
  • Maintain accurate records in line with safeguarding and organisational requirements
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and external agencies

Requirements

  • Experience working with children and/or young people (essential)
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection practices
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends
  • A caring, empathetic, and resilient approach

Desirable

  • NVQ/QCF Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care, or equivalent (essential)
  • Registration with Social Care Wales
  • DBS on the update service (essential)
  • Full UK driving licence (desirable)
