Overview
Lunchtime Supervisor – Cwmafan Primary School (Ysgol Gynradd Cwmafan)
11:30–13:00, 5 days per week with flexibility where needed.
Purpose
To ensure the safety, wellbeing, and positive behaviour of pupils during the lunchtime period.
Responsibilities
- Supervise pupils in the dining hall, playground, and other agreed areas.
- Encourage good table manners and support younger children with eating where needed.
- Promote positive behaviour and help resolve minor playground disagreements.
- Ensure safe play by monitoring activities and intervening when necessary.
- Report any concerns, accidents, or incidents to the senior staff member on duty.
- Maintain a calm, friendly, and approachable presence for all pupils.
- Support the smooth running of lunchtime routines, including lining up, transitions, and clearing spaces.
Personal Qualities
- Friendly, patient, and confident working with children.
- Able to stay alert, fair, and consistent.
- Good communication skills and a commitment to pupil safety.
