The predicted salary is between 35 - 35 £ per hour.

Location: Shire Hall, Gloucester

Pay: £35 per hour (Umbrella)

Contract: Full Time – 37 hours per week – End of July 2026 – End of January 2027

Working Pattern: Hybrid – minimum 3 days per week in the office following an office-based induction.

The Role

  • Undertake screening and triage of referrals into Children's Services.
  • Analyse information from a range of agencies to inform decision-making.
  • Apply sound professional judgement to determine appropriate thresholds for intervention.
  • Work within tight statutory timescales to ensure timely and effective responses.
  • Collaborate closely with partner agencies within the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub.
  • Demonstrate an inquisitive and analytical approach when assessing the needs and risks for children and families.
  • Contribute to safeguarding children by ensuring appropriate and proportionate interventions are identified.
  • This is a non‑case holding role, making it ideal for practitioners who enjoy fast‑paced decision‑making and partnership working rather than long‑term case management.

Hybrid working is available, with a minimum expectation of three days per week in the office. An office‑based induction will be provided to support your integration into the team and local processes.

Qualifications

  • A recognised Social Work qualification.
  • Current registration with Social Work England.
  • A minimum of 6 months' UK experience working as a registered Social Worker.
  • Previous frontline Children's Social Work experience.
  • Experience working within a MASH or front‑door safeguarding service.
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding thresholds and statutory guidance.
  • An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or be willing to obtain one).
  • Three years of satisfactory references.
  • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.

Please note: Due to the nature of this position, we can only consider applicants who hold a recognised Social Work qualification and are registered with Social Work England. Unfortunately, sponsorship is not available for this role.
