We currently have a short term vacancy for a Social Worker to work in Conwy's Disabilities 0-25 Services. This is a full time contract of 37 hours Monday-Friday initially for 3-6 months paying £41.01 Umbrella. There is an expectation that the candidate lives locally or within a commutable distance as the position is located in Conwy County. The worker will be required to work from the office at Coed Pella, Colwyn Bay.
The suitable candidate will be expected to deliver a high quality social work service to children and young people who are deemed vulnerable or needing support due to an impairment that is either physical or mental and the impairment has a substantial long term effect on the individual's ability to carry out day to day activities. They will need to work with the citizen, carers and families to provide support and to develop resilience and independence, ensuring that the citizen, families and carers are at the centre of decision making about their lives and the outcomes that they want to achieve. Completing assessments of children and young people in adherence with the Social Services and Wellbeing Act.
Knowledge of the barriers that children with disabilities face at home and in their community. Understanding of the local authority duty to disabled people and their carers. Knowledge of relevant legislation and guidance around their role and experience of working in a multi-disciplinary environment.
To apply for this role, you will need to hold:
- Minimum of 3 years post qualified plus technology and software skills
- A relevant Social Work Qualification
- Registration with Social Care Wales
- Enhanced DBS, registered on the update service or be happy to apply for a DBS
- 3 Years of referencing
- Driving license with access to a car
- Teamwork and interpersonal skills
