Devon County Council are currently recruiting experienced Children & Families Social Workers to join teams across the county, with multiple opportunities available including:
- North & Mid Devon – Taw View, Barnstaple / Phoenix House, Tiverton (x5)
- South & West Devon – Follaton House, Totnes (x3)
- Exeter & East Devon – County Hall, Exeter (x2)

About the role: Devon’s Children & Families teams manage:
- Child in Need cases
- Child Protection work
- Legal proceedings
- Looked After Children cases
The work is varied, rewarding and focused on supporting families to create lasting positive change within the home environment. You’ll be working alongside experienced Social Workers, ASYE’s, Family Practitioners, Team Managers and Assistant Team Managers within a service committed to restorative practice and child‑centred intervention.
Responsibilities:
- Build strong relationships with children and families
- Undertake visits and respond to service needs
- Manage a varied caseload within frontline services
- Work creatively to promote safety, stability and positive outcomes
- Be available for duty cover and emergency response where required
Hybrid working: There is flexibility for a mixture of office and home‑based working, however candidates must be able to commit to:
- Office attendance on duty days
- Minimum 1–2 office days per week
