This temporary role oversees a Children’s Home for up to 12 weeks, ensuring regulatory compliance, high-quality care and a trauma-informed, strengths-based approach for vulnerable children and young people.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and management to a multi-professional team.
  • Ensure the setting meets the Regulated Services Regulations and all statutory standards.
  • Develop and implement service improvement initiatives.
  • Negotiate, mediate and communicate effectively with staff, families and external agencies.
  • Cover on-call duty outside office hours and manage out-of-hours work as required.
  • Maintain a valid driving licence and use vehicle for work duties.

Qualifications

  • Level 5 Diploma in Health & Social Care Services (Children & Young People’s Registered Management) in Wales or NI.
  • Registration with Social Care Wales.
  • At least 3 years of experience in residential child care at a management level.
  • Social work qualification and registration with Social Care Wales or Social Work England.
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply.
