Cardiff City Council is seeking experienced Qualified Social Workers with a minimum of 3 years' post‑qualification experience to join our supportive and passionate teams. Opportunities are available across CASP, Child Protection (CP), Pre‑Proceedings (PLO), Court, as well as Intake and Locality (long‑term) services. You will work with children and families whose names are on the Child Protection Register, and those involved in PLO and court proceedings, making a meaningful impact on their safety and wellbeing. All applicants must be Social Care Wales registered.

Our teams benefit from experienced leadership, including long‑standing Team Managers and Principal Social Workers, as well as a collaborative environment with varied levels of expertise. We offer monthly supervision, ongoing training, and a flexible hybrid working model, while maintaining a strong team culture for those who enjoy office‑based support. Working within the Social Services and Well‑being (Wales) Act 2014 and Wales Safeguarding Procedures, you will adopt a child‑centred, partnership approach to empower families and achieve positive outcomes.

Requirements:

  • A relevant Social Work Qualification
  • Registration with Social Care Wales
  • Enhanced DBS registered on the update service or be happy to apply for a DBS
  • 3 Years of referencing
  • Driving licence with access to a car
