An exciting opportunity has opened up for a qualified social worker to join a welcoming and supportive Kinship Fostering Team in Cardiff. This is a brilliant time to join the service, as the authority continues its journey with the Signs of Safety approach – placing strong emphasis on building relationships and supporting children to remain within their families wherever possible. You’ll be joining a passionate team where your work will genuinely make a difference.
What you’ll be doing:
- Completing kinship assessments for prospective carers
- Supporting and supervising a committed group of kinship foster carers
- Building strong, effective relationships with families and professionals
- Producing clear, high-quality assessments and reports
What we’re looking for:
- Qualified Social Worker (Degree/DipSW or equivalent)
- Registered with Social Care Wales
- Strong assessment and report writing skills
- Confident communicator with good organisation and IT skills
- A team player who is passionate about supporting children within their families

Application requirements:
- A minimum of 6 months experience of working in the UK as a registered social worker
- A relevant Social Work Qualification
- Registration with Social Care Wales / Social Work England
- Enhanced DBS, registered on the update service or be happy to apply for a DBS
- 3 years of referencing
- Driving licence with access to a car
