Social Work Assistant – Intake and Assessment within Children’s Services – Barry, Vale of Glamorgan (hybrid working). £14.17 per hour + holiday pay accrued on top.
Responsibilities
- Act as point of contact with professionals, managing telephone, e‑mail and other communication.
- Assess information received from professionals and the public in consultation with Social Workers and supervisors.
- Input data and use IT systems to update the Department’s client record system, contributing to the accuracy of stored information.
- Administrate and facilitate various meetings as requested by Social Workers and supervisors.
- Utilise various systems to provide information and updates for meetings as requested by Social Workers and supervisors.
- Work with Children’s Services Social Workers, partners and other professionals.
- Participate in supervision, training, job shadowing and workshops to fulfil the duties of the post and enhance performance.
- Assist with the facilitation of supervised contact between children and their parents.
- Assist with occasional transport of children to and from meetings they need to attend.
- Facilitate the delivery of documents to families.
Qualifications
- Minimum 6 months experience working in children’s services.
- Enhanced DBS, registered on the update service or willing to apply for a DBS.
- Three years of referencing.
- A clean driving licence (access to a car).
- Good general education and willingness to undertake development, including training as required.
- Optionally, a Diploma in Health and Social Care, Children and Young People or equivalent level or above qualification with children/young people.
