We are looking for an organised and proactive
Tender Administrator to support a friendly procurement team during a particularly busy period.
This is a great opportunity for someone with solid general administrative skills who enjoys taking ownership, communicating with different people and keeping important processes on track.
Previous procurement or tender experience is not essential, as full training will be provided on the organisation’s tender system.
You’ll join a welcoming team in a modern, open-plan office and have the flexibility to work from home three days per week, if preferred.
The role The procurement team is currently managing several high-value tenders and needs a confident administrator to provide practical, day-to-day support.
Your responsibilities will include
- Downloading and organising tender submissions and supporting documents.
- Uploading information to the organisation’s tender system.
- Responding to straightforward questions and directing more complex queries to the appropriate team member.
- Communicating professionally with suppliers by email, telephone and Microsoft Teams.
- Maintaining accurate records, files and spreadsheets.
- Formatting and updating documents using Microsoft Word.
- Entering and checking basic information in Microsoft Excel.
- Monitoring shared inboxes and helping the team meet important deadlines.
- Providing general administrative support across the procurement function.
- Learning and using the organisation’s tender-management system, with full training provided.
About you You do not need previous procurement experience to be successful in this role. We are looking for someone who is:
- Organised, reliable and able to manage their own workload.
- A confident self-starter who can use their initiative.
- Comfortable working accurately with documents and data.
- Confident using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams.
- A clear and professional communicator.
- Comfortable speaking with suppliers by telephone and email.
- Able to prioritise tasks and work to deadlines.
- Willing to learn new systems and processes.
- Happy working both independently and as part of a supportive team.
