Permanent Veterinary Receptionist - Small Animal Team

30, 35 or 40 hrs per week + 1 in 6 Saturdays (7:45am–2pm)
£12.71/hr, rising to £13.45/hr after successful probation (higher rates considered for experienced veterinary receptionists)
Hook Norton Veterinary Group is a proud, independent, and well‑established practice with expertise in small animal, equine, and farm care. This role is based at our hospital in Hook Norton with regular work at one of our branch sites in either Charlbury or Moreton‑in‑Marsh.

About the RoleThis role is ideal for someone who thrives in a varied, fast‑moving setting and enjoys working with both clients and clinical teams. Key Responsibilities- Warmly welcoming clients in person and by phone
- Managing and booking complex appointments using a variety of online platforms
- Multitasking and handling urgent requests with professionalism
- Processing payments, supporting dispensing duties, and occasional animal handling at branch
- Rotating stock and keeping reception areas tidy and efficient
- Completing varied administrative tasks, including insurance processing
- At least 2 years of customer service experience (ideally from a veterinary, healthcare, retail, or hospitality setting)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Friendly, clear, and confident telephone manner
- High‑level IT literacy and quick to learn new systems
- Able to follow strict protocols and work accurately
- Own transport is essential due to rural location
