The specialty Orthopedic Surgeons Clinic is located at 9700 N 91st St #B108, Scottsdale, AZ 85258.

The hours are Monday-Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Responsibilities:

  • Under the guidance of surgeons, physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants, this position completes tasks assigned and duties pertinent to patient care with musculoskeletal conditions in the Orthopedic clinic, urgent care, and occasionally in hospital-based settings.
  • Travel to different orthopedic clinic and urgent care locations may be required.
  • The Medical Assistant provides general front and back office support to professional staff, escorts patients to exam rooms, maintains clean and stocked exam rooms, and has knowledge of medical front and back office procedures.
  • Provides quality phone service, schedules patients, and maintains accurate patient information and records.
  • Supports providers with routine clinic and hospital care functions, including patient care, preparing treatment rooms, taking history, vital signs, assisting in exams, and performing procedures like phlebotomy and PRP.
  • Applies, adjusts, and removes casts, splints, and other orthopedic DME, changes dressings, and removes sutures/staples as directed, documenting actions in the electronic medical record.
  • Manages patient and pharmacy phone calls, coordinates with healthcare professionals, and may travel to off-site locations for testing and procedures.
  • Prepares and documents injections, administers medications, and performs office procedures such as PFT, UDS, EKG, within scope of practice.
  • Demonstrates infection prevention and control standards, replenishes supplies, and maintains cleanliness of work environment.
  • Performs miscellaneous duties including front office tasks, insurance authorizations, and referrals.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Graduate of a medical assistant program or U.S. Armed Forces medical services training program. Evidence of 2000 hours of supervised practice if completed before Feb 2, 2000.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year in a healthcare environment required.
  • Licenses and Certifications: Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association required.
