The Peninsula London is seeking to hire a dynamic and people-focused Assistant Manager β People & Culture to take ownership of key HR processes, systems and colleague initiatives, while providing support and guidance on employee relations and day-to-day People & Culture matters. Key accountabilities
- Take ownership of day-to-day People & Culture operations, acting as a key point of contact for colleagues and managers on HR policies, processes, systems, benefits and general employee enquiries.
- Support and provide guidance on employee relations matters, including performance, conduct, absence, grievances and other colleague concerns, ensuring matters are managed fairly, consistently and in line with company policies and employment legislation.
- Oversee key employee lifecycle processes, including onboarding, probation, absence management, performance management, changes to employment and offboarding, ensuring a consistent and positive colleague experience.
- Prepare and maintain accurate People & Culture reporting and data to support decision-making, compliance, and continuous improvement.
- Contribute to colleague engagement and communication initiatives, ensuring People & Culture programmes are effectively planned, delivered and communicated across the hotel.
- Provide operational support and guidance to the wider People & Culture team and deputise for the People & Culture Manager when required.
General requirements
- Previous experience in a HR or People & Culture role, ideally within the hospitality industry, although experience from other sectors will be considered.
- Solid understanding of HR processes, employee relations, employment legislation and HR systems.
- Confident and approachable with a natural ability to build strong relationships and engage effectively with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels.
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail, prioritisation and time-management skills.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to work confidently with HR data, reporting and systems.
- Fluent English communication proficiency, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
