HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE AND LEARN?

  • Proactively identify and optimise opportunities to expand Hong Kong’s positioning and increase distribution of Hong Kong and multi-destination product amongst the defined Market Area, aiming to increase visitor arrivals to Hong Kong and strengthen the destination image to drive demand.
  • Seek out sources of business to ensure that tourism revenue is increased in Hong Kong.
  • Coordinate education and training the travel trade by giving product presentations and training sessions to increase operators' and agents' core knowledge of Hong Kong and to establish Hong Kong as a preferred holiday and stopover destination.
  • Manage stakeholder engagement and relationships across all relevant markets.
  • Secure distribution of new tour product in line with agreed targets, expanding distribution.
  • Gather market intelligence and report on industry trends and activities.
  • Instigate and implement trade incentives as part of wider marketing campaigns in conjunction with the Senior Manager, Marketing and Public Relations.
  • Work closely with operators to ensure that Hong Kong remains an integral part of programmes.
  • Initiate and secure partner airlines for trade familiarisation trips to Hong Kong and multi-destination programmes and accompany these trips.
  • Organise and represent HKTB at third party trade events including, but not exclusively WTM, ITB & PATA events where appropriate.
  • Organise HKTB owned trade events, e.g. Contact & Contract and annual Chinese New Year event.
  • Order, maintain and distribute brochure stocks and other promotional materials supply in office in line with internal procedures.
  • Undertake other additional duties as advised by the Director, Europe.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

  • A degree level or similar with minimum 6 years' experience in a travel trade facing role.
  • Good presentation skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills including event management and a can-do attitude.
  • Knowledge of the following software packages: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work willingly and under own initiative without supervision.
  • Willingness to travel within the region and to work evenings and weekends if required.
  • Analysis and reporting skills.
  • Knowledge of the European travel industry landscape is an advantage but not essential.
  • Good budget management skills.
  • Travel industry experience either in a similar role or working within the travel trade essential and prior knowledge of Hong Kong a distinct advantage.

LOCATION

The position is located in our London Office. We do not offer moving allowances from other cities.
