HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE AND LEARN?
- Drive MICE visitor arrivals to Hong Kong by developing and growing the exhibition and convention segments out of Europe, and reinforce Hong Kong as the preferred destination for these events.
- Establish and foster strong relationships with travel industry partners and major stakeholders through strategic partnership programmes, MICE trade shows and study missions in/from Europe.
- Supervise HKTB's MICE Agency to ensure that marketing activities are executed effectively and achieve the desired results.
- Plan and develop bids for major or high-profile association and world-class exhibitions from Europe. Leverage on government's funding support and value-added offers to maximise Hong Kong's chance of winning.
- Strategic local outreach to industry associations and professional entities to identify leads and drive the bidding process to win.
- Supervise the appointed MICE agency and work closely with the Head Office to translate strategic plans and business plans to actionable items to ensure that the pre-set BPIs can be achieved.
- Plan, organize, and deliver workshops, events, and MICE shows in Europe, ensuring strong market presence and high-quality execution.
- Administrative tasks including maintaining SugarCRM and NetSuite records, administering purchase orders, preparing reports, and ensuring data accuracy, process compliance.
- Undertake any other duties / ad hoc assignments as assigned by the Director.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
- Bachelor's degree from a recognised institution, preferably in Business Administration, Marketing, Tourism, Hotel or Hospitality.
- Minimum 10 years of work experience, including at least 7 years of relevant experience in the travel, tourism, hospitality, marketing, National Tourist Office, or Convention & Visitors Bureau sectors.
- Proven experience in handling business development for Exhibition / MICE events is preferred.
- Knowledge of the European MICE market landscape will be considered an advantage.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills to foster partnership with key players.
- High proficiency in written and spoken English.
- Sound knowledge in marketing planning, project management and budget control.
- Strong communication, presentation, account management and sales management skills.
- Excellent Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) skills.
- Well-organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to work independently under pressure and a willingness to work overtime and travel occasionally.
- Possesses strong awareness of public affairs and protocol, and is mature, outgoing, and sociable.
LOCATION: The position is an on-site role based in our London Office. We do not offer moving allowances from other cities.
