Role Type: 12-month internship
We have an opportunity for a HSE Technician Intern to join us at Honeywell, in Motherwell, where you will be responsible for key HSE activities, such as collaborating daily with staff, conducting inspections and delivering metrics. This role is part of our University Relations program, designed to help students and recent graduates launch their careers with hands-on experience, mentorship, and opportunities for growth within Honeywell. This internship is set up for 12 months to cover a sandwich placement starting in Summer 2026, with the potential opportunity for a permanent role once you graduate in 2028.

Key responsibilities:
- You will work closely with experienced professionals to gain hands-on experience within a friendly and supportive team to be trained to achieve the following:
- Aspects and Impacts
- Compliance Tasks
- Risk Assessment
- Emergency Preparedness
- Contractor Control
- Waste Management
- Sustainability improvements
- Employee Training
All other HSE elements will also be covered within the role with a wide breadth of HSE aspect covered through the duration of the internship. The role will be a fast-paced and dynamic learning environment with expected deliverables throughout its duration. Development and daily operations will cover all aspects of the HSEMS (Health, Safety, Environmental, Management System) and details therein to move towards a role of HSE Engineer within the company and beyond into HSE Leadership or knowledge specialist within the company.
Key skills and qualifications:
- Currently studying a sandwich course degree in Health, Safety, Sustainability, Environmental Management, HSE, or a similar technical degree, graduating in 2028 or already graduated no earlier than 2025
- A passion for forging a long-term career in HSE
- Business level communication, written and verbal, in English
- Permanent and full right to work in Scotland without the need for sponsorship now or in the future
- Currently residing within an easy daily commute to Motherwell or have family that live nearby
