Location: Gatwick / Heathrow Airport

We have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Document Controller to join us at Honeywell Gatwick, West Sussex, United Kingdom. You will manage all of the technical documentation flow of the engineering, project management and construction staff in order to ensure documents control within Company standards and common engineering practices including quality assurance checks. This role is on site Gatwick with flexible work remote.

Responsibilities:

  • Receives and issues documents under transmittal, externally and internally according to document distribution matrix.
  • Ensures that all engineering documents are quality checked and submitted on time prior to the document’s submission due date.
  • Ensures that all documents have no errors in filenames, revisions, submissions, etc. before submitting it to the recipient department/party to avoid confusion.
  • Ensures that controlled copies of latest approved documents and drawings are given to the appropriate staff, contractors and suppliers as applicable.
  • Ensures that controlled copies of latest client instructions and communications are given to the appropriate staff, contractors and suppliers as applicable.
  • Develops and maintains the projects department document control register.
  • Records and files all documentation between the projects department, contractors, suppliers & Independent construction control consultants.
  • Allocates document numbers to internally prepared documents and incoming documentation.
  • Maintains updated records of all approved documents and drawings in the Document Archive and the File Server with easy traceability.
  • Maintains the files and control logs as required by the project procedures.
  • Defining and managing the project documentation process including version control, accurate document registers, databases and workflows.
  • Quality assurance duties working closely with the QA manager.
  • Quality checks on all technical documentation.
  • Promoting equality in the workplace and adopt appropriate behaviour when interacting with colleagues.

You Must Have:

  • Familiar with infrastructure project phases and methods of reviewing quality and archiving of technical documents.
  • Professional experience of Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, Sharepoint, Adobe & MDL Databases plus Major Document Management Systems.
  • Minimum 3 years of Document control and technical assurance experience on a major construction project.
  • Recent major Infrastructure Projects Document Controls and Technical Assurance Experience.
  • Document Control experience in a complex stakeholder environment.
  • MDL Database Creation & Management.

Good to have:

  • Comfortable working within a site environment.
  • Familiar in the regular use to a high level of Document Management Systems to include, Asite, Acconex, EB & BC.
  • Deliverable Schedules Creation & Management.
  • Great Attention to detail carrying out the QA processes.
  • Ability to work under tight program and commercial constraints.
  • First Aid Training advantageous but not essential.
