We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Embedded Software Engineer to join our dynamic team of 10+ engineers building a family of Life Safety products. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in embedded development, with a focus on Embedded Linux / RTOS and QT. This role requires a deep understanding of the full project lifecycle, from project inception to toolchain setup and deployment. Knowledge of Ubuntu Core and Snap development is a significant advantage.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robust embedded software solutions for our cutting-edge products.
- Be a technical leader throughout the full project lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, development, integration, testing, and maintenance.
- Set up and manage toolchains and build environments for efficient software development.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of software components.
- Provide mentorship to junior engineers and peers.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex software issues, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation and efficiency.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- Experience in Embedded software development or at least 5+ years of experience in Embedded Linux development.
- Experience in Free RTOS is a plus.
- QT/QML development in an embedded development is a big plus.
- Strong C/C++ coding skills, ideally in embedded environments. Other languages are a plus.
- Familiarity with Ubuntu Core and Snaps is a plus.
- Experience in developing complex systems.
- Strong knowledge of setting up and managing development toolchains.
- Good to have with CI/CD pipeline deployment.
- Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent sense of ownership and desire to grow.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of an agile/scrum team in a fast-paced environment.
