Responsibilities

  • Lean Implementation and Training: Review production cells, implement Lean best practices, and train staff to enhance efficiency and output.
  • Continuous Improvement Support: Drive continuous improvement initiatives and provide support in manufacturing cells through root cause analysis (RCA).
  • Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure all processes, equipment, and materials comply with UK Health and Safety regulations and conduct necessary risk assessments.
  • Technical and Process Support: Provide technical guidance to Engineering Technicians, assisting with RCA and determining appropriate TPM activities and schedules.
  • Equipment Procurement and Process Enhancement: Procure or enhance equipment through modifications or third‑party solutions, while recommending and driving improvements in manufacturing processes and practices.

Qualifications

  • Minimum HNC or equivalent in Engineering (preferably Mechanical and Production) or recognized time‑served apprenticeship; Six Sigma Green Belt qualification is desirable.
  • At least 5 years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering or related disciplines, with proven experience in medium to high volume production environments and assembly automation (including PLCs).
  • Demonstrated involvement in Continuous Improvement projects and project management experience is essential.
  • Strong hands‑on engineering skills and RCA problem‑solving capabilities, along with proficiency in Yamazumi (line balancing).
  • Ability to create 3D models, utilize 3D printing for project development, and experience with various software to enhance team efficiencies through automated systems integration.
  • Self‑motivated with initiative and good influencing skills, fluent in English.
