As a Health and Safety Lead here at Honeywell, you will oversee health, safety, and environmental engineering efforts, ensuring compliance and best practices to maintain high standards and support sustainable business success. You will report directly to our Logistics Manager and you’ll work out of our Ellesmere Port, Cheshire, United Kingdom location on a on-site work schedule.
In this role, you will impact our organization by developing and implementing required health, safety, and environmental programs that ensure compliance with Honeywell HSE standards, in country regulations and industry best practice. Your expertise in risk assessment, incident investigation, and regulatory compliance will enable us to mitigate potential hazards and maintain a safe working environment. Your contributions will not only protect our people and assets but also enhance our reputation as a responsible and sustainable organization in the building automation industry.
Key responsibilities:
- Maintain Honeywell HSE management system processes and safe work practices into daily operations; Implementation of a robust MOS to maintain HSE conformance and compliance to all requirements, including ISO 45001 & 14001 to ensure certifications are duly maintained.
- Management and continual improvement of HSE programs including Management system & operational control procedures as per Honeywell HSEMS Requirements; Deploy and manage HSE initiatives to continually improve performance of programs and processes.
- Lead HSE initiatives and continuous HSE improvement to support achievement of site goals and ensure zero harm to everyone; Drive excellence and engagement in HSE through management, leadership and employee involvement, worksite risk assessments, hazard prevention and control, and HSE training.
- Develop and implement safety programs to maintain compliance with regulatory and company HSE requirements; Oversight facility management activities in strong coordination with the FM Provider.
- Oversight and project management of HSE projects as needed; Perform site compliance reviews and safety auditing as needed; Drive the BCM and Sustainability compliances applicable to HSE; Ensure 100% compliance for all HSE legal & other requirements; Lead & support and participate in all HSE internal & external audits; Manage HSE events (e.g. incidents) as per Honeywell HSE MS and relevant local legal requirements; Timely reports to the Regional HSE Director on progress and/or escalations.
- Collaborate with various internal departments, senior management, and external stakeholders to ensure effective communication, training and education on HSE matters; Keep updated on all regulatory changes and report out on emerging issues; Plan and deliver HSE training at site including maintenance of the training tracker to actively monitor training requirements and compliance.
Key skills and qualifications:
- Strong hands-on experience directly managing HSE at Factory / warehouse or similar operational environment; OSHA or NEBOSH diploma required.
- ISO 45001 & 14001 internal auditor training desired; Lead auditor certification desirable.
- HSE program/project development, implementation and management experience in a manufacturing environment; Experience in dealing with HSE certifications, Permits & compliance; Experience with HSE management systems.
- ISO 45001, 14001 Certification experience; ISO 50001 - Energy management experience will be added advantage.
- Innovative thinking to create continuous improvement; Good working knowledge of computer skills; Experience with Sustainability projects & scoping; Experience with Business continuity Planning & on-site management; Project management expertise with excellent planning and delivery skills; Proactive approach to risk management and mitigation.
