As an Advanced Project Engineer within the Advanced Technology UK team based in Yeovil, you will play a crucial role in the early stages of technology development for various product lines. Your primary focus will be on leading a team of engineers in developing and delivering the air and thermal systems for nextâgen aircraft platforms. Additionally, you will manage our external communication and engagement process with key collaboration partners such as technology developers and test houses or laboratories. You will have a strong mechanical engineering background and experience working with small to medium multidisciplinary teams as well as crossâdepartment collaboration.
Responsibilities:
- Manage our relationship with key suppliers, ensuring that they deliver at an acceptable price, quality, and schedule.
- Manage relationships with key collaboration partners, maintaining their drumbeat of delivery to our projects.
- Own and maintain the risks associated with these key projects.
- Present progress to stakeholders at various positions within the organisation and provide a twoâway conduit for communication between stakeholders within the project and external parties.
Qualifications:
- Experience running projects, including offâsite projects at subâcontractors.
- Strong negotiating skills and budget management experience.
- Knowledge and experience in Technology Readiness Levels (TRL).
- Experience and/or understanding of Aircraft Thermodynamic Systems, in particular Environmental Control Systems (ECS) and heat exchangers or other thermal management systems.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
