We are hiring a Senior Application Systems Engineer based in the UK to support building automation and energy management projects across Europe. This is a hands-on role responsible for developing scalable system designs and validating them in the field. The position bridges engineering, sales, and delivery to ensure solutions are technically sound and deployable across multi-site environments. This role requires frequent travel (>50%) across Europe for site surveys, design validation, and project execution support.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop system architectures and application designs for BMS/EMS solutions
  • Perform on-site surveys and technical assessments across multiple countries
  • Translate field conditions into clear, buildable designs and defined scopes
  • Lead development of:
    • Proposals
    • Statements of Work (SOW)
    • Network and integration diagrams
  • Define integrations across:
    • HVAC systems
    • Refrigeration controls
    • Lighting systems
    • Energy and submetering
  • Design and validate protocol integrations (BACnet, Modbus, RS-485, IP)
  • Identify and mitigate design risks and constructability issues early
  • Support and guide commissioning and technical handoff to operations

Required Experience

  • Proven experience in building automation (BMS) and/or energy management systems
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • HVAC and refrigeration control systems
    • Electrical distribution and submetering
    • Field integration protocols (BACnet, Modbus, IP networking)
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • Niagara / JACE platforms
    • Honeywell or equivalent BMS systems
  • Experience delivering multi-site rollouts (retail/QSR/commercial)
  • Ability to design and support edge-to-cloud architectures
  • Demonstrated experience performing site surveys and translating findings into system design
  • Ability to operate across engineering, sales, and field execution teams
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively (>50%) across Europe

Additional Experience (Preferred)

  • Experience with:
    • Johnson Controls (JCI) systems
    • Schneider Electric BMS / energy platforms
