HBS is seeking a Pre Sales Engineer Security and Fire Alarm Estimator Level 2 (mid-level Position) to prepare cost estimates and proposals for new (greenfield) or service projects. The candidate will collaborate with sales, design engineers, vendors, and customers to address technical requirements and deliver accurate, timely estimates. This role supports Honeywell’s business goals and focuses on customer satisfaction. In this role, it is anticipated that they will provide support to the sales team during internal approval processes and preparations to ensure proposals are submitted promptly on time. This is a hybrid position based either in Bracknell or Didsbury Honeywell offices.

Responsibilities
  • Develop accurate and timely estimates for Security Systems and Fire Alarm systems, focusing on scope, materials, and labour for assigned opportunities.
  • Engage early with the sales team to thoroughly understand inquiries and create suitable design solutions.
  • Collaborate with Operations Teams to assess costs, identify risks, and leverage synergies.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of products and technical skills, ensuring compliance with Honeywell policies and processes.
  • Prepare detailed professional proposals, including Bill of Materials with inclusions, exclusions, and assumptions.
  • Support sales professionals during the solution development process and assist in final negotiations and customer meetings.
Qualifications
  • A technical degree with over 7 years of professional estimating experience or a BS/BA degree with 4+ years in estimating for Security Systems and Fire Alarm systems.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of major Security and Fire Alarm Systems within the UK market.
  • Proficiency in Excel and Word to produce professional documents for formal submissions.
  • Proven ability to translate technical solutions into detailed cost components and experience estimating projects over $1 million in Security Systems.
  • Familiarity with Honeywell Security and Fire Alarm Systems (e.g., Pro-Watch, MaxPro) and understanding of CPQ and SaaS/Cloud services is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with internal and external customers and effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
