Assembly Test Technician is responsible for assembling, testing, and troubleshooting electronic and/or mechanical products to ensure they meet quality and performance standards. This role supports production goals by ensuring timely and accurate completion of test procedures and documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble components and subassemblies according to engineering drawings, work instructions, and specifications.
- Perform functional and diagnostic testing of products using manual and automated test equipment.
- Identify and troubleshoot faults in assemblies and elevate issues where necessary, recording test results and maintaining accurate documentation in line with quality standards.
- Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to resolve technical issues and improve test processes.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized work area. Support continuous improvement initiatives within the production and test environment.
Key Skills and Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related field. Proven experience in assembly and testing within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics. Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and automated test systems.
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team. Basic computer literacy (e.g., MS Office, ERP systems).
- IPC certification (e.g., IPC‑A‑610) or similar. Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies. Knowledge of ESD handling procedures.
