As an Electrical Test Engineer Apprentice at Honeywell, in Southend, you will be allocated an experienced mentor to guide and train you to achieve the testing and evaluation of electrical wiring devices and their components. The role is designed to provide hands‑on training and experience in electrical testing processes, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. You will learn to perform tests, document results, and support the engineering team in various projects in a UKAS accredited laboratory environment. This role is part of our early‑careers program, designed to help people launch their careers with hands‑on experience, mentorship, and opportunities for growth within Honeywell. This degree‑level apprenticeship is set up for 5 years.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation and execution of electrical tests on wiring accessories and their components.
  • Learn to operate testing equipment and testing software under supervision.
  • Document test procedures, results, and any issues encountered during testing.
  • Support the design and implementation of test plans based on engineering specifications and assist with troubleshooting and diagnosing product issues.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards during testing activities.
  • Learn some of the supporting tasks such as calibration and equipment maintenance.

Key Skills And Qualifications:

  • A levels in 2 STEM related subjects a minimum of grade C, from 2026 or before.
  • Business level English written and verbal language skills.
  • Full and permanent right to work in the UK.
  • Live within an easy commute of our Southend offices.
  • Interest in electrical engineering and technology.
