Job Description
As Tool and Die Technician here at Honeywell, you will play a vital role servicing and repairing our press and mould tools.
This role ensures our tooling operates efficiently and safely, while meeting strict quality standards to support continuous production needs.
You will support the sites manufacturing operational efficiency, helping meet our business objectives.
You will report directly to our Senior Manufacturing Engineer Supervisor and you will work out of our Southend location.
Responsibilities
- Service/repair press tools, including both progression and single-operation systems.
- Service/repair thermoplastic multi-cavity injection mould tools (hot/cold runner systems).
- Service/repair thermoset compression and injection mould tools.
- Diagnose and resolve tooling issues, conducting root-cause analysis, implementing corrective actions.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Inspect new tooling to ensure compliance with internal tooling standards.
- Maintain accurate records of work completed during servicing to optimise schedules and drive continuous improvement.
- Perform in accordance to health and safety standards, promoting safe working at all times.
Qualifications
- Experience working within a toolroom, with a strong understanding of precision tooling.
- Commitment to maintaining high-quality standards, adhering to workplace health and safety regulations.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Proficiency in using technical tools and equipment relevant to the role.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and external toolmakers.
- Maintain accurate records of work completed during servicing to optimise schedules and drive continuous improvement.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple tasks and adopt a continuous improvement mindset.
- Experience in referencing CAD files to obtain tool details/design standard.
- Experience in Microsoft Office - particularly Excel
