We have an opportunity for a Process Automation Engineer to join us at Honeywell, in North/North East, where you will be responsible for supporting customers across mission-critical process industries, including energy, refining, petrochemicals, gas and LNG, life sciences, grid infrastructure and low-carbon energy. This is a field-based role where you will travel to customer sites.

Pioneering Automation Systems and Measurement Devices that Improve Operations:

  • Maintain, audit, configure, programme, install, commission, upgrade and migrate Honeywell Technologies control and safety systems, including Experion PKS and legacy TPS/TDC 3000 environments.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues affecting distributed control system hardware, software, input/output, control loops, field devices and network connections.
  • Support Honeywell Technologies and third-party systems, including LCN, UCN, PLC, SCADA, safety-system, industrial networking and connected digital technologies where applicable.
  • Provide first-response technical support and act as a key Honeywell Technologies contact at customer sites.
  • Build trusted customer relationships, understand operational needs and help identify appropriate solutions and service opportunities.

Experience:

  • Experience within a field service engineering or a related technical role; relevant practical, placement or apprenticeship experience is also welcome.
  • Understanding of automation control, instrumentation, electrical or electronic systems, with the ability to learn new technologies.
  • Experience with Experion PKS, TPS/TDC 3000, LCN, UCN, Process Manager I/O, Series C, safety systems, HMI, SCADA, third-party controls, PLCs, industrial networking, virtualisation or cybersecurity is highly desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and clear communication with customers and colleagues.
  • A proactive, self-motivated approach and the ability to work effectively in demanding environments with limited supervision.
