About the Role
As a Quality Engineer Intern at Honeywell in Southend, you will gain hands‑on experience and contribute to our commitment to quality excellence. You will support our quality engineering team in ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and reliability.
You will work closely with experienced professionals to gain hands‑on experience within a friendly and supportive team to be trained to achieve the following:
Responsibilities- This role focuses on the manufacturing of electrical products for the Building Automation industry.
- Involvement on continuous improvement of Kaizan and Pokayoke initiatives.
- Impact the quality assurance processes by assisting in audits, analysing quality metrics, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist in conducting quality audits to identify areas for improvement.
- Support the analysis of quality metrics and trends to drive continuous improvement.
- Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
- Currently studying a sandwich course degree in mechanical engineering, process engineering or manufacturing, requiring an industrial placement starting in 2026, graduating in 2028.
- Experience in quality engineering or related fields (this can be from the workplace, your studies or a hobby).
- Familiarity with quality management systems and methodologies (this can be from the workplace, your studies or a hobby).
- Some exposure in data analytics (this can be from the workplace, your studies or a hobby).
- Business level written and verbal communication skills in the English language.
- Can commute with ease to our Southend office.
This role is part of our University Relations program, designed to help students and recent graduates launch their careers with hands‑on experience, mentorship, and opportunities for growth within Honeywell. This internship is set up for 12 months to cover a sandwich placement starting in Summer 2026, with the opportunity for a permanent opportunity once you graduate in 2028.
