As a trainee Assembler at Honeywell, in West Edinburgh, you will be trained to assemble and inspect products to ensure the highest quality product is provided to our customers. Products are for the defence and space industry and are at the cutting edge of technology. This is a full‑time, permanent role, with the following shift pattern: Mondays – Thursdays 08:25‑17:05 and Fridays 08:25‑13:20. The role is also eligible for overtime paid at a premium rate should the candidate be willing to work additional hours.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assembling cutting‑edge technologies, such as microwave components, under a microscope using manual tools such as tweezers and soldering equipment
  • Working to drawings and assembly instructions
  • Mechanical Assembly following a prescribed build process
  • Carrying out visual quality checks and packing
  • Labeling of finished parts
  • Working to strict Health and Safety guidelines, always ensuring use of PPE

Key Skills and Qualifications

  • No experience in assembly is required for this role; it’s all about your attitude and manual dexterity.
  • Demonstrate a high level of manual dexterity to work with small parts
  • The ability to undertake tasks using magnifying equipment when required
  • Good English language skills, both written and spoken
  • Full right to work in the UK without the need for sponsorship
  • Ability to commute to our office with ease
