As Sr Program Manager you will provide program leadership for the development, qualification, transition to production, and entry into service for Air Supply (AS) and High-Density Cooling (HDC) Systems. Your initial responsibilities will include leading and managing an Oxygen Generation And Distribution System (OGADS) Life Support System program. You will interface with multiple levels of functional leadership in Engineering, Integrated Supply Chain, Customer and Product Support, and Finance to build cross-organizational support and serve as an escalation point should program challenges occur. You will be accountable for revenue growth, margin expansion, cost control and time-to-market commitments.
You will achieve breakthrough improvements in program performance by exerting performance management and leadership influence through deployment of other cost-effective and proactive program management practices. Your ability to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with cross-functional teams will help align projects with business goals and customer requirements. By developing and implementing project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation, you will ensure efficient project execution and delivery. Monitoring project progress and ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets will help maintain project efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
You will report directly to our Control Systems AS and HDC Systems Sr Director of Program Management, and you’ll work out of our Yeovil, United Kingdom location on a Hybrid work schedule. In this role, you will impact the Control Systems business unit by ensuring the successful execution and delivery of engineering projects, driving operational excellence, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and manage programs to ensure successful execution and delivery
- Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with cross-functional teams
- Develop and implement project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation
- Employ PM tools and development processes, including earned value management (EVM), statement of work (SOW), work breakdown structure (WBS), basis of estimate (BOE) management, scope / requirements management, scheduling, and cost management.
- Establish and own a programmatic Management Operating System (MOS)
- Partner with Program Control (PC) team members to review and analyze cost and schedule metrics to make data-driven resource decisions
- Identify and mitigate risks and issues that may impact project delivery before they become critical issues
- Communicate program status and issues to all levels of leadership
- Ensure overall portfolio financial performance to AOP and STRAP
- Drive critical program management policies as a change agent
- Collaborate and mentor integrated program teams and help onboard new program managers.
YOU MUST HAVE
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in engineering program management or related roles
- Proven track record of successfully delivering complex engineering projects on time and within budget
- Strong leadership and project management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Experience in risk management and problem-solving
- Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies
