The Role
This role plays a key part in supporting the administration and coordination of postgraduate medical training programmes across Northern Ireland. Working closely with the
Hospital Specialty Training Manager and
Training Coordinator , you'll help deliver an efficient training service by providing administrative support across recruitment, trainee management, and educational activities.
- Main Responsibilities
- Coordinate specialty recruitment campaigns from planning through to appointment.
- Maintain vacancy information within online recruitment systems and organise interview schedules.
- Prepare interview documentation and support pre-employment processes.
- Coordinate trainee rotations and placement arrangements.
- Administer trainee assessments and maintain accurate training records.
- Assist with the revalidation process for doctors in postgraduate training.
- Support the organisation and delivery of trainee induction programmes.
- Arrange educational meetings, training events, and teaching sessions.
- Provide administrative support for virtual meetings, including attendance monitoring.
- Keep training databases and e Portfolio systems up to date.
- Build effective working relationships with trainers, healthcare organisations, and external stakeholders.
Essential Criteria
Applicants should meet one of the following
- GCSEs (Grades A-C), including English Language and Mathematics, together with two A Levels (or an equivalent or higher qualification) and at least 18 months' relevant administrative experience
- A minimum of three years' relevant administrative experience.
Candidates must also demonstrate
- Competence using Microsoft Office applications.
Desirable Experience
Applications are particularly welcomed from candidates with
- At least six months' experience organising meetings, events, or training activities.
- A minimum of one year's committee administration experience, including preparing agendas and taking minutes.
- Previous responsibility for financial administration, including processing invoices and payments.
