Honeycomb is pleased to partner with a valued client to appoint a Personal Lines Agent to join their team based in Belfast. The Personal Lines Agent is a key role for the business. The purpose of the role is to support customers by helping them arrange and maintain appropriate personal insurance cover, ensuring they understand their options and receive fair, compliant outcomes. It exists to protect the customer's interests while driving the business forward through accurate administration, strong retention and new business performance and consistently high service standards in line with FCA regulation and Consumer Duty.
Duties of this role include:
- Provide quotations for new business across personal lines products, including motor and home.
- Handle renewals and mid-term adjustments, including changes to vehicles, drivers, addresses and sums insured.
- Assess customer needs and recommend suitable cover, explaining key features, exclusions and excesses clearly.
- Collect, verify and record customer information accurately, including underwriting questions and disclosure requirements.
- Negotiate premiums where appropriate within authority and follow referral processes with insurers when required.
- Process policy documentation, confirmations, schedules and certificates and issue them within agreed timescales.
- Take payments, set up direct debits and handle cancellations, lapses and reinstatements in line with procedure.
- Manage inbound and outbound calls, web leads and follow-ups to convert opportunities and retain existing clients.
- Resolve customer queries and complaints promptly, escalating where required and maintaining accurate case notes.
- Maintain full compliance with FCA rules, data protection, Treating Customers Fairly principles and Consumer Duty.
- Meet agreed KPIs for sales, retention, call handling, quality and administration accuracy.
- Keep product knowledge up to date through training and remain competent under Training and Competence requirements.
The Right Person for this role will have at least six months' experience in personal lines insurance or strong transferable skills from a customer-focused environment such as banking. They will be confident speaking with customers by phone and email, able to gather accurate information, explain cover clearly and handle queries with care and professionalism. They will be organised and detail-focused, comfortable working to targets while maintaining high standards of compliance and service. They will also be keen to build a long-term career in insurance, with a genuine interest in working towards professional qualifications and developing their technical knowledge over time.
The Package for this role includes a salary ranging from £25000-£30000, dependant on experience, healthcare, pension contribution, funded qualifications and a fantastic team culture. This role will be office-based, in either Belfast or Omagh, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, with an hour lunch break.
