We are looking for a proactive and flexible Business Support Officer to join the Waste Management team. You will provide high-quality customer service, administrative support, and business operations assistance across Waste Management, Fleet, Waste Operations, and Sustainability functions. This role involves managing enquiries, supporting operational teams, liaising with stakeholders, and maintaining accurate records. You'll be the first point of contact for customers and play a key role in keeping services running smoothly. This is a part-time role for 22 hours per week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. This role will be based in Antrim.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle customer enquiries via phone, email, live chat, social media, and face-to-face, ensuring issues are resolved efficiently.
- Assist residents with bulky collection requests and new customer setup.
- Liaise with contractors, stakeholders, and external agencies to ensure smooth service delivery.
- Maintain and update databases, spreadsheets, and records accurately, producing reports as required.
- Support financial processes, including receiving payments, invoicing, reconciliation, and reporting.
- Provide administrative support to Operations Managers and senior management, including mail shots, event organisation, and document preparation.
- Ensure compliance with departmental procedures, corporate communication standards, and regulatory reporting.
- Participate in training and contribute flexibly to departmental priorities, including occasional work outside normal hours.
- Prepare and analyse data for management reports, providing insights to help inform decisions and monitor team performance.
Essential Criteria
- Minimum of 5 GCSEs (Grades A-C), including English and Maths, and a minimum of 2 years' administrative or clerical experience, including minute-taking.
- Experience in a customer service role, handling direct customer contact and complaints.
- OR 4 years' relevant clerical experience, including minute-taking and experience in a customer service role, handling direct customer contact and complaints.
- Full current driving license required.
Desirable Criteria
- Recognised IT qualification (e.g., ECDL, CLAIT, OCR, RSA Word Processing).
- Experience in a Waste Management environment.
