Honeycomb is assisting a growing Financial Services practice based in East Belfast to recruit for a Paraplanner to join their high performing wealth team. The role is full time and permanent and offers flexi working hours to accommodate work/life balance.
The Company
Our client is an established independent financial planning firm who are changing the way advice is built and delivered - with a focus on clarity, consistency, quality and efficiency. This has allowed them to grow the business and client base. With a heavy emphasis on staff wellbeing, they have introduced flexi hours working, an early finish at 4pm on a Friday and a range of health benefit incentives.
The Role
This is a hands-on paraplanning role with genuine ownership, not a narrowly defined report-writing position. You will play a central role in shaping how advice is constructed, improving the quality and consistency of suitability reports, and acting as a key support to advisers in turning recommendations into clear, compliant client outcomes. We use AI tools to support drafting and summarisation. Your value is judgement, sense-checking, and ownership of the final output.
Typical duties will include:
- Taking ownership of the structure and quality of suitability reports
- Reviewing adviser recommendations and ensuring they are clearly explained, suitable and consistent
- Using AI tools to support first drafts, summaries and checks - and refining output as needed
- Carrying out product research across pensions and investments
- Acting as the main paraplanning contact point for advisers and administrators
- Spotting gaps, inconsistencies or inefficiencies in the advice process and raising them constructively
This role sits at the heart of advice delivery, not at the end of it.
The Right Person
This role would suit someone who enjoys taking ownership rather than waiting for instruction, is comfortable operating with responsibility and judgement, likes improving how things work, and wants to be closely involved in advice outcomes. Experience working in a UK IFA environment, a solid understanding of FCA suitability standards, confidence reviewing and shaping suitability reports and experience across pensions and investments. Level 4 Diploma or working towards.
Package
Salary: £40 - £45K (subject to experience)
Benefits package
Exam support and CPD
Opportunity to shape and grow the role as the firm evolves
In Summary
This is a role for someone who wants to be involved, trusted and relied upon - and who is motivated by making advice better, clearer and easier to deliver.
