This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced administrator to join a busy healthcare setting, with an immediate start available. The position is offered on an initial 3-month temporary basis, with the possibility of an extension. Location: Downpatrick Pay: Band 3 - Β£12.75 per hour Start date: Immediate Contract: Temporary, initially for 3 months with potential extension Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm This role provides an opportunity to make a valuable contribution to patient services. Working as part of the Patient Administration Services team, you will deliver efficient and accurate administrative support while helping to ensure a responsive, patient-centred service. Key Responsibilities Accurately inputting and updating patient details across electronic systems, including Epic, PAS and Patient Centre. Coordinating and scheduling appointments according to clinical priorities and Integrated Elective Access Protocols (IEAP). Scanning, uploading and maintaining patient documentation on electronic systems. Assisting with audits and carrying out patient information checks. Managing allocated work queues and ensuring information remains accurate and up to date. Preparing reports and statistical data, including waiting-time information. Maintaining both electronic and paper-based filing systems. Responding to patient and staff queries in accordance with Trust procedures. Managing competing priorities, diaries and correspondence effectively. Supporting the induction and training of new members of staff. Providing reception support when required. Organising meetings and taking accurate minutes. Contributing to service and quality improvement activities. Following all relevant Trust policies, including Data Protection, IT Security, Health & Safety, Infection Prevention & Control and Records Management. Essential Criteria Candidates must satisfy one of the following requirements: 4 GCSEs (Grades A-C), including English Language, together with 1 year's administrative/clerical experience OR NVQ Level 2 in Administration (or equivalent) plus 1 year's administrative/clerical experience OR 2 years' administrative/clerical experience Candidates must also demonstrate: At least 1 year's word processing experience Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook Essential Skills Ability to work effectively within a team Confidence in using initiative and working independently when required Strong organisational and time-management abilities Excellent verbal and written communication skills High levels of accuracy and attention to detail Ability to manage workload within a busy and changing environment Understanding of the Data Protection Act Experience with administrative systems, including diary management and filing Desirable Previous experience working with computerised databases To apply in confidence, please submit your CV using the application link provided or contact Geraldine Stevenson for further information.
