The Role

The Mortgage Underwriter will be responsible for supporting the end-to-end process of mortgage applications. You will ensure smooth operations by:

  • Processing mortgage applications efficiently while making sound lending decisions in line with policy.
  • Working closely with underwriting, broker support and mortgage processing teams to keep applications moving quickly and smoothly.
  • Reviewing customer information and supporting documents to ensure applications are complete, accurate and ready for assessment.
  • Maintaining accurate records and updating mortgage systems with actions, notes and key application details.
  • Preparing and issuing mortgage offers once all requirements are met, ensuring conditions are correct.

The Person

  • Strong mortgage administration experience
  • Clear understanding of mortgage applications and processes
  • Ability to build strong relationships with customers
  • Positive and proactive attitude
  • Minimum of 6 GCSEs at grades A-C, including English and Maths

Package / Benefits

This role is full-time, Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm. Hybrid working is offered after probation and includes a minimum of 2 days in the office. You will receive 25 days' holiday plus up to 12 bank holidays. Other benefits include:
