Honeycomb are delighted to be working with a large public sector organisation to recruit an HR Administrator for their team based in Lisburn. This is a temporary position for 6 weeks, with the potential for extension. The hourly rate is £16.68.

Location: Lisburn

Salary: £16.68 per hour

Contract: Temporary for 6 weeks initially, with the potential for extension

Hours: Full-time hours, Monday to Friday. 36.25 hrs per week

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service on a temporary basis. The role offers an immediate start.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide a professional, confidential and customer-focused HR administrative service across the organisation.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR databases in line with GDPR and record retention requirements.
  • Prepare and issue HR documentation, correspondence and contractual paperwork accurately and on time.
  • Support payroll administration by processing employee changes, payroll instructions and monthly checks within deadlines.
  • Administer maternity, paternity, shared parental leave and other employee lifecycle processes.
  • Monitor and support probationary review processes, ensuring documentation is completed and recorded correctly.
  • Record sickness absence information and maintain accurate attendance and leave records.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to HR enquiries from managers, employees and external stakeholders.
  • Provide guidance on HR policies, procedures, terms and conditions of employment and employee services matters.
  • Support recruitment and resourcing activities, including job notifications, recruitment assessments and agency worker administration.
  • Produce HR reports, statistics and management information for internal and external reporting purposes.
  • Assist with Freedom of Information, Data Protection and audit-related information requests.
  • Maintain effective filing and records management systems for both electronic and paper-based HR documents.

Essential criteria:

  • 5 GCSEs (Grade A-C), including English and Maths (or equivalent) AND 1 year of experience working in an administration role within a demanding office environment OR 2 years of experience working in an administration role within a demanding office environment.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Experience working with a range of internal and external customers.

Desirable criteria:

  • Experience working in a HR Administration role, within a large, multi-disciplinary organisation.
  • Have gained or working towards a HR qualification.
  • Experience working within the public sector.
