Honeycomb are pleased to partner with BSO PaLS to recruit for a Band 4 Procurement Officer to join their team in Boucher Crescent Belfast on a temporary full-time basis.

Location: Boucher Road, Belfast

Pay Rate: £14.06 per hour. Enhanced holidays after 12 weeks.

Hours of Work: 9am-5pm family friendly hours (potential for flexibility after training).

Organisation: Business Services Organisation (BSO)

About the Role

We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Band 4 Procurement Officer on a full-time temporary basis. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience within a fast-paced, professional environment, contributing to the delivery of high-quality procurement services across Health and Social Care in Northern Ireland.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively review and source goods and services, always ensuring value for money.
  • Purchase goods and services, including managing tendering and quotation processes in line with HSCNI procedures.
  • Ensure all procurement activities comply with relevant legislation, including European and British Standards.
  • Check invoices and the ability to spot and solve differences.
  • Data analysis.
  • Talking to customers who phone in about orders.
  • Provide expert purchasing advice and guidance to internal customers.
  • Use PC systems and procurement software to support service delivery.
  • Resolve invoice queries in collaboration with Finance Departments to ensure timely supplier payments.
  • Respond to supplier enquiries professionally and efficiently.
  • Approve purchase orders within delegated authority limits, where required.
  • Liaise with PaLS colleagues across multiple sites on supply-related matters, including participation in working groups.
  • Monitor supplier performance to ensure contractual obligations are met.
  • Support the supervision and training of Band 3 staff, where required.
  • Undertake any additional duties appropriate to the Band 4 level.

Essential Criteria

Applicants must meet one of the following:

  • Option 1a: GCSE Maths and English (A*-C) or equivalent (or higher qualification), Two A Levels (or equivalent/higher qualification), At least 18 months' relevant business/commercial/financial experience.
  • Option 1b: GCSE Maths and English (A-C) or equivalent (or higher qualification), A Primary Degree, At least 6 months' relevant business/commercial/financial experience.
  • Option 1c: GCSE Maths and English (A-C) or equivalent (or higher qualification), At least 3 years' relevant experience, including 2 years in a business/commercial/financial environment. Relevant experience should include clerical and/or administrative work within a commercial, business, or financial setting.

Additional Requirements

  • Demonstrable experience using Windows-based software, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
