Pay Rate: £14.06 per hour with weekly pay

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm

We are recruiting a Band 4 Procurement Officer to join a busy Health & Social Care procurement team based in Ballymena. The Role

As a Procurement Officer, you will support the procurement function by assisting with the sourcing and purchasing of goods and services, ensuring compliance with public sector procurement regulations and organisational policies. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting procurement activities from quotation through to purchase order.
  • Consulting with suppliers and internal stakeholders to obtain pricing, specifications, and delivery information.
  • Preparing procurement documentation and maintaining accurate purchasing records.
  • Assisting with tendering exercises and contract administration.
  • Monitoring supplier performance and resolving routine procurement queries.
  • Ensuring compliance with HSC procurement procedures and relevant legislation.
  • Using procurement and finance systems to process orders and maintain records.
  • Producing reports and providing administrative support to the wider procurement team.

Essential Criteria

Applicants must meet one of the following qualification and experience pathways:

  • Option 1a GCSE Mathematics and GCSE English (Grades AC) or equivalent qualification demonstrating literacy and numeracy (or a higher qualification). AND Two A Levels (or equivalent qualification) or a higher qualification. AND A minimum of 18 months' relevant business, commercial or financial experience.
  • Option 1b GCSE Mathematics and GCSE English (Grades AC) or equivalent qualification demonstrating literacy and numeracy (or a higher qualification). AND A Primary Degree. AND A minimum of 6 months' relevant business, commercial or financial experience.
  • Option 1c GCSE Mathematics and GCSE English (Grades AC) or equivalent qualification demonstrating literacy and numeracy (or a higher qualification). AND A minimum of 3 years' relevant experience, 2 years of which must have been gained in a business, commercial, or financial environment. Relevant experience should have been gained within a general business, commercial or financial environment and include clerical and/or administrative duties.

In addition, applicants must have:

  • Experience using Windows-based software, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
