The Northern Health and Social Care Trust (NHSCT) is seeking a Finance Officer to join our Financial Management Directorate based at Greenmount House, Ballymena. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in managing budgets, improving financial systems, and supporting decision-making that directly impacts patient care and service delivery.
The Role
- Assist in the development and maintenance of effective financial management systems.
- Support budgetary control, including preparing and inputting approved changes to the Trust's financial systems.
- Prepare management reports, investigate variances, and provide financial advice to directorates.
- Create and maintain budget reports for managers and provide financial training and support.
- Carry out variance analyses and ad hoc investigations into budget and expenditure.
- Manage payroll and non-pay expenditure adjustments.
- Support staffing establishment preparation and funding identification.
Essential Criteria:
- 3 years' relevant finance experience OR Certificate for Accounting Technicians (ATI) or equivalent (QCF Level 4) with 2 years' relevant finance experience.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical, time management, and communication skills.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (reasonable adjustments made for disability).
Desirable:
- Experience in a public sector or healthcare finance environment.
- Knowledge of financial management within the Health and Social Care (HSC) structure.
