About The Role
Here at Honeycomb Houses, our Sous Chefs are culinary creatives. If you believe you could support in leading one of our kitchens and engage the team to perform at their best then we are eager to welcome you into our friendly family. The role of a Sous Chef involves many responsibilities that help to keep our kitchens safe, sanitary, well stocked and serving up sensational dishes to our wonderful customers. Our ultimate candidate would have a flare for delivering high quality, a passion for perfection in their presentation and the ability to successfully perform under pressure.
Duties include:
- Assist the head chef in overseeing the kitchen operations and managing the team.
- Ensure food is prepared and presented in a timely manner.
- Monitor food quality and taste to maintain consistency.
- Collaborate with the head chef to develop new menu items and specials.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines.

Honeycomb Houses is a family-run institution born-and-bred from our parent company, Brakspear, which came to life all the way back in 1779. Our philosophy is simple, we treat colleagues like family, guests as friends and pubs like homes. We are looking for a sous chef to join our friendly and talented team at The Sheep.
The maximum salary for this position (depending upon experience) is £35,000 per annum, plus tronc which is approximately £3,500 per annum.
