As a Cleaner, you will maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene across our male and female accommodation schemes, supporting residents who may have experienced homelessness, domestic abuse, trauma, mental ill health or substance misuse.

Working as part of a supportive team, you will play an important role in promoting safety, dignity, wellbeing and recovery through the environment you help create.

What you’ll do

  • Clean communal areas, offices, kitchens, bathrooms, laundry facilities, corridors and other designated spaces to a high standard.
  • Ensure cleaning tasks are completed safely and in line with health and safety procedures, COSHH guidance and infection control requirements.
  • Report repairs, hazards, damage, pest issues and other safety concerns promptly.
  • Maintain cleaning records, stock checks and cleaning schedules.
  • Respond flexibly to urgent cleaning needs within a busy accommodation setting.
  • Work respectfully around residents, maintaining their privacy, dignity and personal space.
  • Contribute to a calm, safe and welcoming environment for residents, colleagues, visitors and partner agencies.
  • Work in a trauma-informed and person-centred way, recognising the diverse experiences and needs of residents.

Who you are

  • Have previous cleaning experience in a workplace, residential, hospitality, care, health, hostel or similar environment.
  • Take pride in your work and consistently deliver high standards of cleanliness.
  • Have a good understanding of safe cleaning practices, hygiene standards and health and safety requirements.
  • Reliable, organised and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Communicate respectfully and professionally with people from all backgrounds.
  • Be compassionate, non-judgemental and committed to treating others with dignity and respect.
  • Willing to learn and undertake training relevant to the role, including safeguarding, health and safety and trauma-informed practice.
