The Night Shift Supervisor is responsible for overseeing operations during non-business hours, supervising a team of employees, ensuring smooth workflow, maintaining safety standards, and addressing any issues that arise throughout the night shift, while reporting to upper management and ensuring the overall efficiency and quality of services during the nighttime period. This role operates on a 4 on, 4 off rolling rota, with 10-hour night shifts from 10:00pm to 8:30am (including a half-hour unpaid break). The position is remote, covering 24/7 schemes and community properties across Concrete, and includes mileage and expenses in addition to salary.
What you’ll do:
- Oversee the night-to-night running of 24/7 accommodation services, ensuring high standards of building management, safety and security.
- Lead, support and deputise for staff and Scheme Managers, ensuring effective staffing, cover, recruitment, induction and team performance.
- Act as Tier 1 on-call, managing out-of-hours calls, coordinating emergency responses and liaising with maintenance and contractors.
- Carry out community and property management duties, including regular patrols and liaising with partners to ensure properties remain safe and fit for purpose.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements, maintain accurate records, and support the smooth and safe operation of schemes across all locations.
Who you are:
- Committed to continuous self-development, supported by relevant training or experience in sector knowledge, people management, and service delivery.
- Significant experience working in a residential, hostel or supported housing environment, supporting vulnerable and/or homeless people is desirable.
- Experience helping people identify goals and supporting them through change, with an understanding of complex needs (e.g. mental health, substance use).
- Confidence in managing challenging situations and coordinating with multiple individuals and agencies to achieve positive outcomes.
- Able to manage administrative tasks, meet deadlines and maintain accurate records.
- IT literate, with experience using systems such as Microsoft Word, Excel and the ability to set up and monitor systems.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting, while also contributing effectively as part of a team.
- Demonstrate empathy, a values-driven approach and a genuine commitment to supporting people experiencing disadvantage.
- Able to maintain enthusiasm for a high level of contact with clients and to adapt an assertive approach when required.
- Flexible, resilient and open to change, with a commitment to continuous improvement and professional development.
- Able to travel between locations, work a rolling night rota, and hold a full driving licence with access to a vehicle for business use.
