Do you have a passion for great food and excellent customer service? We're looking for a Relief Cook to provide flexible support across our Independent Living Villages, stepping in whenever our catering teams need an extra pair of hands. You'll help deliver a high-quality, cost-effective catering service by preparing and serving nutritious meals, maintaining excellent standards and creating positive dining experiences for the customers who call our villages home.

What you'll do:

  • Prepare and serve delicious, nutritious meals to a high standard.
  • Support the smooth running of our kitchens, restaurants and bistros.
  • Maintain excellent food hygiene, health and safety standards.
  • Monitor stock levels and help minimise waste to deliver a cost-effective service.
  • Work closely with colleagues to provide a welcoming dining experience for customers.
  • Provide flexible cover across our Independent Living Villages as and when required.
  • Support the day-to-day running of the kitchen in the absence of the Catering Team Leader.
  • Guide and support Catering Assistants in delivering a high-quality service.

Who you are:

  • You hold a Level 2 Food Hygiene qualification or above (or are willing to refresh your training where required).
  • You have demonstrable experience in a similar catering role.
  • You're passionate about preparing great food and delivering excellent customer service.
  • You have experience working in a professional kitchen environment.
  • You understand food hygiene, health and safety requirements, including allergen management and special dietary needs.
  • You're organised, adaptable and able to work well under pressure.
  • You communicate well and enjoy working as part of a team.
  • You're flexible and happy to work across different locations to support our services when needed.
  • You hold a valid UK Driving license to travel between sites.
