What you'll do:
- Provide advice, advocacy and support to high‑risk victims and survivors of domestic abuse, focusing on customers aged 55 and over.
- Understand the needs of groups who face additional barriers to disclosure and respond appropriately.
- Work with female and male survivors and other agencies (including adult social care).
- Collaborate within a multi‑agency framework, including MARAC, police, health professionals, child protection, housing practitioners and other voluntary and statutory specialists, while maintaining an independent role on behalf of the victim/survivor.
- Support victims‑survivors in navigating the criminal and civil justice systems, ensuring they are aware of their rights and options.
- Partner with the perpetrator intervention service when appropriate, ensuring all necessary processes are carried out to maintain the safety of the victim/survivor.
Who you are:
- Hold a good level of education including GCSE English and Maths, or equivalent.
- Have substantial experience supporting individuals on a 1‑2‑1 basis.
- Evidenced self‑development or formal learning and development in sector skills.
- Direct experience supporting adults who have experienced domestic abuse or who have other complex needs.
- Have a formal qualification such as IDVA, or the willingness to complete this.
- Good understanding of domestic abuse, including the impact on those affected and the legal and practical remedies available to them.
- Full UK driving licence and use of your own vehicle for work.
- Enhanced DBS and Police Vetting required for this role.
